Byron Days 2009
Byron Center, Michigan held its annual summer celebration this weekend. Most of the events were Saturday, starting with a 5 K run and a parade. Never having been to the parade, I was surprised how popular it was. Big crowds and it lasted for about 45 minutes.
A lot of other events, things you normally see in these kind of events. A lot of sports competitions, basketball, softball and skateboarding. The skateboarding event was new this year, and I spent a lot of time there. There was also tractor pulls and horse pulls. I caught the end of the horse pulls and the teams of two horses were pulling a sledge loaded with 6,000 pounds. The winning team ended up pulling 6,500 pounds.
There were a lot of things for the kids to do, as well as a dunk tank and food. It ended up with fireworks.
